In November, fine jeweller Fei Liu partnered with Bonhams to auction off a pair of custom earrings, with all proceeds going to charity.

Liu’s Kiss of an Angel earrings are crafted in 18 carat gold in the shape of wings, set with triangular-shaped cabochon moonstones, and accented with round diamonds. The jeweller created them in response to the wildfires that swept through Los Angeles in January 2025.

“Kiss of An Angel was created to honour the tenderness and strength that emerged in the aftermath of the devastation [of the Los Angeles fires]," says Liu. "Knowing that its sale will support the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu gives the piece a life and purpose beyond adornment. I am profoundly grateful to the collector who embraced its story, and to Bonhams for helping us turn beauty into meaningful impact.”

The earrings sold for US$4,864 on 18th November, 2025, with all proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu, a charity that provides youth enrichment programmes, no-cost mental health and wellness services in schools, and long-term disaster recovery services.

“We are incredibly grateful for Fei Liu's generous donation,” says Molly Scott, vice-president of philanthropy at Boys & Girls Club of Malibu.

“The earrings he created are beautiful and the story behind the design is powerful — a perfect tribute to the resilience of the Malibu community. We have a long road to recovery, and the funds raised will support our youth afterschool programmes, no-cost mental health services, and trauma-informed care coordination for over 2,500 individuals impacted by the Palisades Fires.”
