The Jewellery Cut

Rachael Taylor was the co-founder and editorial director of The Jewellery Cut, a platform that supported independent jewellery designers through engaging editorial, sparkling social posts and live events between 2018 and 2022.

The Jewellery Cut's anchor events were bi-annual jewellery showcases held during London Fashion Week at chic locations in the city, which included Hoxton Holborn, Hotel Café Royal and The Royal Institution in Mayfair. The Jewellery Cut Live shows showcased the work of independent jewellery designers. The events were open to all, and attracted hundreds of jewellery shoppers, as well as store buyers (including Liberty, Matches and Harrods) and journalists from titles including Vogue, The Telegraph, FT How To Spend It, The Times and Tatler.

A programme of jewellery lectures and panel discussions were also held at The Jewellery Cut Live, with high-profile speakers including Alex Monroe, Wallace Chan, Vogue jewellery editor Carol Woolton, and influencers Katerina Perez and Liza Urla of Gemologue.

The Jewellery Cut website, which attracted a mixed audience of consumer and professional visitors, published regular jewellery articles written by well-known jewellery writers. It also published a free daily newsletter - The Daily Cut - that offered a round up of the most interesting jewellery stories of the day, from sources around the world.

During its time, The Jewellery Cut was named as one of the top six jewellery Instagram accounts to follow by The New York Times, was been selected to be part of the Mayor of London’s business growth scheme London & Partners, and was shortlisted for awards at both the UK Jewellery Awards and the NAJ Awards.
